This is my Reading page. On this page I will be telling you about my reading this year. This year I have been lucky enough to receive the help and encouragement from the great four teachers: Miss Bates, Miss Scanlon, Dom and also Mr Graham. I have improved a bit in being more organised with my reading as in returning books and getting my mother to sign it.
Reading Levels: I started this year of 2010 in level 5e and have finally moved up to level 6e which is three levels up. I have been surprised at myself this year in reading because of realising that even if you don’t like the subject you are participating in doesn’t mean you can’t be any good at it.
Premiers Reading Challenge: This year I have also been participating in the Premiers Reading Challenge. This is a competition that encourages you to read books. At the end of the competition time which is given, each kid that has completed the competition get’s a certificate. This is my second year ina row and second all together that I have been competing in this competition.
Guided Reading: In Guided reading I am in the red group. I find the Guided Reading activities easy and not hard to do. I have been able to complete the tasks in the classroom after going off into the smaller groups. I like Guided Reading but find it at sometimes boring and uninteresting. But overall I think I am travelling well in Guided Reading.
Interesting Books: Some of my favourite books to read include Paul Jennings series “Just” Books by Andy Griffiths. I’m not a huge fan of reading but do enjoy some books at sometimes. I also like Specky Magee. Because I think I like books that I can connect with.
